Panaji, May 13 (IANS) The Indian Air Force ferried 323 oxygen concentrators and other medical equipment to Goa, which has been facing oxygen shortage over the last few weeks, which has caused the death of 26 patients on Tuesday alone.A statement issued by Union Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik's office said that the oxygen concentrators and medical equipment were flown to Goa at the request of the state government."In view of the growing corona infestation in Goa and the growing stress on the medical system, the Goa government on Wednesday evening called on Union Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik and asked for help. Naik took immediate steps in that direction and today Air Force aircraft arrived in Goa with 323 oxygen concentrators and other medical equipments," the statement said."All the states, including Goa, are facing this major epidemic. Oxygen scarcity has been a headache for the government. The need for oxygen is increasing day by day. The Union government is making every effort to meet the demands of the states," the statement quoted Naik as saying. पणजी| कर्नाटक में सड़क दुर्घटना में गंभीर रूप से घायल होने के एक महीने बाद, केंद्रीय रक्षा राज्य मंत्री श्रीपद नाइक को बुधवार को यहां के एक सरकारी अस्पताल से छुट्टी दे दी गई। राज्य के सर्वोच्च स्वास्थ्य सुविधा, गोवा मेडिकल कॉलेज के डीन डॉ. शिवानंद बंडोदकर ने पत्रकारों से कहा कि नाइक के घाव अच्छे से ठीक हो गए हैं और वह संसद के बजट सत्र में भाग लेने की स्थिति में हो सकते हैं, जोकि एक ब्रेक के बाद मार्च में आयोजित किया जाएगा।
बंडोदकर ने केंद्रीय मंत्री के छुट्टी के समय संवाददाताओं से कहा, "वह अच्छी तरह से ठीक हो गए हैं। उनकी जांघ की हड्डी का फ्रैक्च र भी ठीक हो गया है। उन्हें आराम की जरूरत है, जिसे वह घर पर कर सकते हैं।"
शीर्ष स्वास्थ्य अधिकारी ने कहा, "हम एक बार एक्स-रे करेंगे और उसकी स्थिति की जांच करने के बाद, हम उन्हें (संसद में भाग लेने के लिए) अनुमति देने पर विचार करेंगे। उनके स्वास्थ्य को ध्यान में रखते हुए, वह इसमें शामिल हो सकते हैं, लेकिन हम केवल एक्स-रे जांच के बाद ही कुछ कह पाएंगे।"
नाइक अपनी पत्नी और एक सहयोगी के साथ 12 जनवरी को कार से उत्तर कन्नड़ जिले में एक प्राइवेट विजिट पर जा रहे थे। इस दौरान उनकी कार यल्लापुरा के पास पलट गई। दुर्घटना में उनकी पत्नी और एक सहयोगी की मौत हो गई।
नाइक को अस्पताल से बाहर निकालते समय पत्रकारों से बात करते हुए, केंद्रीय मंत्री के बेटे सिद्धेश ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी, रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह, मुख्यमंत्री प्रमोद सावंत को उनकी सहायता के लिए धन्यवाद दिया। (एजेंसी)

More than a month after he was hospitalized with serious injuries following a road accident in Karnataka, Union Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik on Wednesday was discharged from a top government hospital.
Speaking to reporters, Dr. Shivanand Bandodkar, dean of the Goa Medical College, the state's apex health facility, said that Naik's wounds had healed well and he may be in a position to attend the budget session of Parliament, which is scheduled to reconvene after the ongoing break, in March.
"He has healed well. His thigh bone fracture is also healing. He needs rest, which he can take at home," Bandodkar told reporters at the time of the Union Minister's discharge.
"We will conduct an x-ray sitting again and after examining his condition, we will consider permitting him (to attend Parliament). Considering his health, he may be able to attend it, but we will be able to say only after examination of his x-ray then," the top medical official said.
Naik was traveling by car along with his wife and an aide in the north Kannada district as part of a private visit when his car overturned near Yallapura on January 12. His wife and an aide died from injuries received during the accident.
Speaking to reporters while escorting Naik out of the hospital, the Union Minister's son Siddesh thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for their assistance.
"Everyone has helped us a lot. I want to thank the Prime Minister and Defence Minister, other Union Ministers and party officials, Chief Minister and Health Minister and all party workers, because of whose support and blessings we were able to overcome this phase," Siddhesh Naik said.

पणजी- केन्द्रीय आयुष और रक्षा राज्यमंत्री श्रीपद नाइक तेजी से स्वस्थ्य हो रहे हैं और उनके स्वास्थ्य में ऐसे ही सुधार होता रहा तो 10 दिनों में अस्पताल से उन्हें छुट्टी मिल सकती है. एक शीर्ष स्वास्थ्य अधिकारी ने गुरूवार को ये जानकारी दी.
गोवा मेडिकल कॉलेज के डीन डॉ. शिवानंद बांदेकर ने संवाददाताओं से बातचीत में कहा, "इस समय वह स्थिर हैं, बहुत अच्छा कर रहे हैं और उनकी रिकवरी बहुत तेज हो गई है."
बांदेकर ने कहा कि नाइक के घाव ठीक हो गए हैं और वह बेडसाइड फिजियोथेरेपी से गुजर रहे हैं.
गौरतलब है कि कुछ दिन पूर्व श्रीपद नाइक दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गए थे जिसमें उनकी पत्नी और उनके एक सहयोगी की मृत्यु भी हो गयी थी.
उनके स्वास्थ्य को देखते हुए आयुष मंत्रालय का अतिरिक्त प्रभार अस्थायी रूप से केंद्रीय मंत्री किरण रिजीजू को दिया गया है.

Panaji- Union Minister of State for Defence, Shripad Naik, is recovering well and may be discharged from hospital in 10 days, a top health official said on Thursday.
"At present he is stable, doing very well and his recovery has been very fast," Goa Medical College Dean Dr Shivanand Bandekar told reporters at the Assembly complex here.
Bandekar said that Naik's wounds had healed and he was going through bedside physiotherapy.
An MPV in which Naik was travelling in along with his wife and an aide had overturned near Yallapura in Ankola in Karnataka on January 12. He was seriously injured as the vehicle hit a tree. His wife Vijaya and a close aide were killed in the accident.
Asked when Naik would be discharged, Bandekar said: "We will take a call only when he is able to do day-to-day activities like eating on his own, take care of his personal hygiene etc. It will take at least another 10 days." (IANS)
New Delhi, Jan 26 (IANS) The condition of two police personnel who were admitted to Lok Nayak Hospital following clashes with some farmers near the ITO crossing in central Delhi on Tuesday has turned critical.A doctor supervising the emergency ward told IANS: "The two police officials have sustained injuries on their heads and are currently in the trauma ward. If their health deteriorates further, we will transfer them to the intensive care unit (ICU)."Meanwhile, the tally of injured people in the clashes at the ITO wherein some farmers deviated from the route of their tractor rally and drove into the city, has risen to 22. Of them, 11 are farmers and rest are the police officials.However, five of them have been discharged after giving the first aid. "Three policemen and two farmers were discharged following the first aid treatment," said Dr Ritu Saxena, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the Delhi government-run hospital.Saxena had earlier told IANS that few of the admitted people have received serious injuries in the clashes."Some have fractured their legs, hands and also suffered blows on their heads. We are treating them in an emergency ward," she said.Dramatic scenes were witnessed on Tuesday after the agitating farmers clashed with the Delhi Police near ITO, with the police firing the tear gas shells and carrying out baton charges to disperse them.The farmers, who started their 'Kisan Gantantra parade' much ahead of their scheduled timing entered the national capital defying the agreement of the scheduled time of tractor rally and creating multiple fronts at Karnal Bypass, Mukarba Chowk, Transport Nagar, Akshardham, Gazipur and Tikri border and some farmers armed with swords were also seen clashing with the police.As soon as the farmers reached the ITO intersection and tried to move towards the Red Fort, many of the farmers clashed with the police personnel and attacked them with sticks and iron rods.
