Hyderabad, Aug 10 (IANS) Former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader, R.S. Praveen Kumar on Tuesday tested positive for Covid-19.Praveen Kumar was briefly admitted to the government-run Gandhi Hospital. He was later discharged from the hospital and is now undergoing treatment at home.Kumar, who joined the BSP at a public meeting in Nalgonda on August 8, is suffering from mild symptoms of Covid-19. However, doctors said his condition is stable."I have mild Covid-19 symptoms. Nothing to worry at all," the BSP leader tweeted. He appealed to all people who came in contact with him recently to isolate themselves.Kumar addressed a well-attended public meeting at Nalgonda and joined the BSP in the presence of the party's National Coordinator Ramji Gautam.Ramji Gautam announced Kumar's appointment as the Telangana BSP State Coordinator.The 1995 IPS batch officer on July 19 announced voluntary retirement from service.Kumar has served as the Secretary of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) and the Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TTWREIS) for the last seven years.--IANSms/khz/bg

Patna, July 12 (IANS) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar found himself in an uncomfortable situation for a few minutes after a youth sitting in front of him claimed that he was suffering from black fungus.The youth had come to Day 1 of the Janata Darbar of Nitish Kumar. It began on Monday after a long gap of 5 years.The Bihar CM was sitting on one side of the table and the youth was sitting on the other side. While Kumar was looking at the application of that youth and asked him about the problem he was facing, he said that he is suffering from black fungus.As soon as he said black fungus, Kumar became uncomfortable. One of the officials standing alongside the chief minister asked who is suffering from black fungus in your family, and the youth said that he is having black fungus.Following the incident, Nitish Kumar called the health secretary and directed him to make arrangements for the proper treatment of the youth.On Day 1 of Nitish Kumar's Janata Darbar, over 100 complainants reached his residence in Patna on Monday.--IANS ajk/bg

The 98-year-old is currently recuperating in hospital.The actor's wife, actress Saira Banu Khan, issued a statement late on Monday updating about his health.The statement issued on Dilip Kumar's Twitter account, reads: "We are grateful for God's infinite mercy on Dilip Sahib that his health is improving. We are still in hospital and request your prayers and duas so that Insha'Allah he is healthy and discharged soon. Saira Banu Khan."Dilip Kumar was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of Hinduja Hospital, Khar, on June 29, after reportedly complaining of breathlessness.A statement was issued on his behalf on Twitter the following day. It read: "Dilip Saab has been admitted to Hinduja Hospital, Khar to address medical issues related to illness which are frequently expected in a 98 year old. Mumbai, June 30 (IANS) Bollywood legend Dilip Kumar has been hospitalised once again, for the second time this month.
The 98-year-old actor was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of Hinduja Hospital, Khar on Tuesday, after reportedly complaining of breathlessness. As per reports, he is stable now.
This is the second time this month that the veteran actor has been admitted to hospital. He was hospitalised on June 6 after experiencing breathlessness.
A health update was tweeted from the actor's official account on June 9, which reads: "Thank you for your prayers. A successful pleural aspiration procedure was performed on Dilip Saab. I personally spoke to Dr. Jalil Parkar and Dr. Nitin Gokhale. They are optimistic that he will be discharged tomm (Thursday)."
While the actor was in hospital earlier, his wife, veteran actress Saira Banu had earlier issued a statement on his Twitter account thanking fans for their love and prayers and requesting everyone to not pay heed to rumours. Dilip Kumar was discharged from the hospital on June 11.

Dilip Kumar was admitted to hospital on Sunday. An earlier tweet on his official Twitter handle on Sunday had stated: "Dilip Sahab has been admitted to non-Covid PD Hinduja Hospital Khar for routine tests and investigations. He's had episodes of breathlessness. A team of healthcare workers led by Dr. Nitin Gokhale is attending to him.
