The whole universe is facing the current impact of COVID-19. Many country took the powerful step of lock down to prevent the harmful effect of Corona on humanity and consider humanity first in respect of economy. When cases of corona is increasing day by day and co-morbidity also enhance in vertical manner, Everyone at their home felt the Novel stress -lockdown stress.
At current scenario we all work from home, sitting in front of news channel and spend many hour of days only by watching news. Many questions arise now in our mind – whether will we survive or not, when will be the lockdown finish, whether will we have enough grocery at our home to survive if lockdown continues, what about our jobs, whether our salaries credit in our account if lockdown continue, how will we increase our immunity and so on. These entire questions which arise in our mind start a novel stress called lock down stress due to this novel corona virus.
No other physical or mental issue is more prevalent in our body or mind except this lockdown stress. But this is not the time to stress ourself. It’s the time to boost our immunity and strength so that together we all fight with this stress as well as with Corona.
Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narender Modi during his speech to general public also gives some simple measure to reduce our stress.
Firstly he told us to clap for corona warrior, that claps are not only for corona warrior but also for all of us, it’s a massage for togetherness ,together we will fight against corona and stress, at that particular time we only think about clapping for corona virus, all negative though of lockdown stress just pass by that time.

Secondly he hold us to ignite the lamp or diya, by doing that we burn out all the negative thought which comes in our mind and we show the positive attitude of togetherness. It’s not the time to boost your stress, it is a time to boost immunity, reduce stress by simply follow some principle of ancient text.
Principles mentioned in classics enhance our mental health. First principle is Achara rasayana. Achara means Behaviour and Rasayana means rejuvenation. So some basic behavior which increase our immunity, promote our mental health called as Achara rasayana.
Achara Rasayana gives us mental strength, boost our social health and enhance our power to fight stress.
Second principle is Sadvritta. Sadvritta is the good conduct with respect to physical, mental and social health. Bath daily ,cut nails in every 5 days ,don’t tell lie ,respect our elders ,talk politely, control anger ,wear neat and clean cloth, by simply follow all these we boost positively within our self.
Proper and Nutritious diet along with medication also enhance our immunity physically, mentally and socially. Only when we are mentally strong and fit after that we are able to face that pandemic. We need to lock ours tress now so that we all together fight as warrior for noval corona virus.

Dr. Ankur Kumar Tanwar is a post graduate scholar and a passionate Ayurveda practitioner and researcher. His keen sense of understanding related to concepts and fundamentals of Ayurveda shows in his works too. He is developing a special Prakriti tool to help practitioners prescribe right medicines to patients based on their correct constitution. Nirogstreet talked to Dr. Ankur Tanwar about his journey and dreams about Ayurveda. Read the interview below.
Please tell us about your educational background and professional qualifications.
I did my schooling from Delhi. I completed my B.A.M.S. from Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbia College, University of Delhi in 2011. I worked as a health consultant at Gurudwara from 2011-13. Then I worked at Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Ayurvedic Charak Sansthan for 3 years. I also taught Panchakarma technicians for a year. Thereafter, I met with an accident and succumbed hand fracture which kept me constrained for 3 months. I joined All India Institute of Ayurveda as senior research fellow from may 2017 to November 2017. When I was there, Prof. Meera Bhojani encouraged me to go for post graduation. I cleared the PG entrance and got admission to Tibbia this year. I also became a Nasya member in 2014 and have been serving the second term as its national treasurer.
That’s a lot of different experiences, Dr. Tanwar. Tell us why did you choose Ayurvedic practices?
When I passed my 12th in 2005, I had no idea about Ayurveda. Father insisted me to undergo B.A.M.S. He even asked me to fill up homeopathy and Ayurveda admission forms. I took Ayurveda and developed an active interest in it. I was the 2nd topper of my batch in the first year itself.
Well done, Dr. Tanwar. What is your experience when it comes to treating patients? Do they trust the treatment?
Most of the patients come when they are in the chronic stage of the disease. They hence come in haste with an expectation of some guarantee. They also have seen all those fake tv ads that promise quick recovery using some Ayurvedic kit. Amusingly, they even ask for such kits. So, I tell such patients that you can be cured but it cannot be guaranteed. I understand that practitioners have to wade through all suspicions of the patients and then there are issues like expenses and affordability.
Any challenge that you face as a practitioner?
I have observed that Symptomatic treatment is becoming a trend of late. I think this is too wrong and I want to do something about it. Treatment and medicine should be prescribed based on correct Prakriti Diagnosis and root cause. I am developing a Prakriti software under the guidance of Dr. Meera Bhojani so that we can help the practitioners know and choose the right herbs and medicines based on the Prakriti and Doshas of the patients. It will be a personalized and correct Ayurvedic approach then. The Prakriti-based medicine tool will be a great help for practitioners.
Any out of ordinary situation that you have faced while treating a patient?
A patient came to me with a severe case of Eczema and Psoriasis. Panchakarma helps in the cure but people are afraid of it. He had a drinking problem too and he was quite lenient in following the treatment. Such instances throw a challenging situation at the dedicated practitioners.
How effective is traditional medicine as a cure?
It is 100% effective. Once you prescribe it according to proper Prakriti, Age, Desh, it is bound to work miraculously.
What do you think of Ayurveda’s future and its role in integrated medicine?
Ayurveda has a bright future. I think integrated medicine is a good concept but mixopathy has its own shortcomings. Specializations in Ayurveda is highly required. As bottom line, I think pure Ayurveda is a far better approach.
Do you think Nirogstreet is making a difference by striving to connect the mainstream society exclusively to Ayurveda practitioners through dedicated technology platforms?
Definitely, reach and awareness in people is increasing because of such efforts. More and more doctors are being informed and updated. Moreover, patients get to connect with good doctors. I think Nirogstreet can use its technological advantage to come up with various tools. It can help develop the Prakriti tool I am working on. Besides, there should be a dictionary, college communities, teacher’s lectures, etc. Integrated with the nirogstreet for ayurveda doctors app.
Any hobbies or activities you engage in, outside your professional life?
Yes, I have two hobbies: listening to old songs and reading good books.
What message would you like to convey to the people on Wellbeing?
As it is said, prevention is always better than cure. Nidan Parhej is the way to go. Ayurveda helps live a correct lifestyle and hence stay healthy. As it is said, ‘Swaasthasya Swasthya Rakshnam’. For consultation click on this link► Dr. Ankur Kumar Tanwar
