Dhootpapeshwar Kutajarishta is a widely prescribed Ayurvedic formulation produced by fermentation of decoction of its principal integrant Kutaja (Holarrhena antidysenterica) and other ingredients listed below. It contains 5 to 10% self-generated alcohol which acts as the medium of dissolution of active constituents of the herbs.

Properties and uses:

Diarrhea, Amoebic Dysentery, Chronic Fever, Irritable bowel syndrome, Bleeding disorder of intestine, Cough, Chronic Bronchitis and gastric disorder. It is also act as detoxifier (Aam pachak).

Dosages and Anupan:

According to the prakrirti & the condition of the patient. Usually 15-25 ml once or twice a day, advised after food. In case there is a need, it can be mixed with equal amount of water.

Side Effects:

High dose of Kutajarishta may cause constipation. It is bitter in taste which can cause vomiting, nausea, tastelessness.

Self life:

10 years. Once after opening the bottle, it should be empty within 2 months.
