Dhootapapeshwar Godanti Bhasma is an ayurvedic medication made from Godanti, or pure gypsum, and used to cure a wide range of health concerns such as headache, fever, respiratory disorders, leucorrhoea, calcium deficiency, gastritis etc.Godanti, which is the main ingredient of this medicine and is also known as gypsum, is a white, naturally occurring substance that is high in calcium, vitamin C, and other minerals. Its scientific name is dihydrate of calcium sulphate. It is sheeta virya, or cold in nature, according to Ayurveda, and is therefore used to treat a variety of ailments related to pitta imbalances, such as fever, leucorrhea, jaundice, headache, acidity etc.Prior to being used for therapeutic reasons, Godanti is purified. It is purified via the methods mentioned in the ayurvedic classics Rasa Tarangini and Rasa Ratna Samuchaya. After that, Godanti is titrated with lemon or aloe vera juice to prepare it into a red-coloured powder (bhasma) form.Because Dhootapapeshwar Godanti Bhasma is a rich source of calcium, it is frequently used to treat calcium-deficient conditions like osteoporosis and rickets.
