Baidyanath Patrangasava is an Ayurvedic medicine used for the treatment of several women health ailments such as leucorrhea(shweta pradar) or white discharges from vagina, dysmenorrhea(painful bleeding), uterine bleeding, excess menstrual bleeding, fever, inflammatory disorders,anaemia, anorexia and polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS).
Take 48 grams (coarse powder)of each of –
Patrangasava has number of therapeutic actions like anti-inflammatory, uterine tonic, antimicrobial, antihemorrhagic, depurative, appetizer, detoxifying, and anti-lipidemic properties and that is why it gives wonderful results for overall health, specially for women. Due to it’s overall therapeutic values, women should take this medicine continue for 2 to 3 months in a year or 2 to 3 bottles in a year. However, no side effects it has, it should be taken under medical supervision within prescribed dosages.
Patrangsasava is indicated in following conditions: Heavy menstrual bleeding, Prolonged menstruation, Inter-menstrual bleeding, Dysmenorrhea (Kashtartava), Leucorrhea (white discharge) or Svetapradara, whitish or yellowish discharge of mucus from the vagina, Anemia, low red blood cells or hemoglobin in blood.
12 to 25 ml two times a day after having food along with equal amount of water.
However, Patrangasav is herbal preparation, few studies suggest the severe side effect due to overdosage or intolerance to any of the ingredients with this medicine such as; indigestion, acid reflux, constipation, vomiting or nausea, high blood pressure, palpitation, burning sensation, excess vaginal bleeding. Always consult your doctor if, get any of such symptoms.
Note: It must be noted that the Asava must not be used in cases of prolonged irregularities in the menstrual cycles. Any issues must immediately be brought to the notice of the medical or ayurvedic practitioners.
