Baidyanath Agnitundi Vati is an Ayurvedic medicine, available in tablet form. It is widely used for the treatment of digestive disorders like indigestion, loss of appetite and flatulence. Agnitundi Vati has carminative action that helps in stimulating the digestive system.

Ingredients

10 g of each of

  1. Suta (Purified and processed Mercury)
  2. Visha (Aconitum ferox)
  3. Gandhaka (Purified and processed Sulphur)
  4. Ajamoda – Ajowan (fruit) (Trachyspermum roxburghianum)
  5. Haritaki – Chebulic Myrobalan fruit rind (Terminalia chebula)
  6. Vibhitaki – Belliric Myrobalan fruit rind ( Terminalia bellirica)
  7. Amalaki – Indian gooseberry fruit (Emblica officinalis Gaertn)
  8. Svarjikshara
  9. Yava Kshara – Kshara of Barley (Hordeum vulgare)
  10. Vahni – Lead Wort (root) (Plumbago zeylanica)
  11. Saindhava Lavana (Rock salt)
  12. Jeeraka – Cumin (Cuminum cyminum)
  13. Sauvarchala Lavana (Sochal salt)
  14. Vidanga – False black pepper (Embelia ribes)
  15. Samudra Lavana (Common salt)
  16. Tankana Bhasma (Borax)
  17. Vishamushti (Purified Strychnos nux vomica) – 160 g
  18. Jambira swarasa (Lemon juice)

Properties and Uses

Baidyanath Agnitundi vati used to treat lack of digestive power and fever associated with indigestion. It improves Pitta dosha, and balances Vata and Kakha doshas.

  • Agnimandhya
  • Amajvara
  • Alcoholic pancreatitis
  • Acute and chronic pancreatitis
  • Bed wetting in children

Dosage and Anupana

125 to 250 (1 to 2tab) mg with lime juice, warm water at one or two times a day after meal or as directed by physician.

Side effects

Agnitundi vati should be used strictly under medical supervision as it contains heavy metals. Its accidental overdose cause poisonous effects. Patients with high blood pressure should take this medicine with precautions as it contains salt as an ingredient. It should be avoided during pregnancy and lactation and in children.

5 years from the date of manufacturing.
