In frost-free zones you can enjoy growing stevia year-round, allowing it to grow into a small shrub. Stevia doesn't like soggy soil, so make sure that it has good drainage.
Uses: Stevia has strongly emerged as the safest and most natural answer to the risks associated with a sugar-addicted lifestyle. The best way to plant it is to cut a sprig from an existing mint plant or a mint seed and sow it in a pot preferably 12-16 inches wide. Spring is the ideal time for them to grow. Mint requires adequate sunlight and more water.

Planting and Care: Grow Coriander by sowing seeds directly outdoors during spring and summer. It grows best in a well-drained, moist soil. The seeds can germinate within two or three weeks and quickly produce leafy growth. Plants should be spaced about 6 to 8 inches apart.

Planting and Care: For better germination, you can soak the seeds overnight. Plant seeds in individual pots indoors 10 to 12 weeks and then shift it to your kitchen or balcony garden. Plant the seeds in moist, rich soil about 6 to 8 inches apart. Water the seeds often while they germinate so that they don't dry out. Throughout the summer, be sure to water the plants evenly.

Varanasi- The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has set up 'giloy' nurseries in seven districts.
'Giloy', which goes by the botanical name 'Tinospora cordifolia', is said to be a major immune booster and is highly recommended by Ayurveda experts for well-being.
The nurseries have been set up in Varanasi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra and Bhadohi.
Dr Y.B. Tripathi, dean of the Ayurveda faculty, said that the Giloy plantations were done under the 'Giloy Mission' in about 600 nurseries.
"We encouraged about 500 farmers to start Giloy cultivation and set up their own nurseries. Once the lockdown is lifted, we will organise meetings to make people aware of the benefits of Giloy, particularly in diseases like Corona. We plan to distribute about two lakh saplings of Giloy," he said.
Meanwhile, Dr Narendra Nath Kesarwani of 'Ayudh Research Centre and Hospital' in Prayagraj, said that Gikoy had three kinds of alkalides that promote white blood corpuscles and increase immunity that guards against diseases.
"Giloy, since ages, has been known as an immune booster and there is a need for making people aware of its benefits. We plan to extend the plantation of Giloy to other districts as well," he said.
He further said that that one should drink 'Giloy' kadha (decoction) since this helps in kidney ailments also, apart from promoting immunity.

Kathmandu - A lawmaker from the ruling Nepal Communist Party has registered a bill in the country's parliamentary secretariat for legalizing the production, sales, medical use and scientific research of cannabis.
Nepal's Narcotics Drugs Control Act, 1976 has criminalized the sale, cultivation and consumption of cannabis in the Himalayan nation.
"The main reason behind registering the bill to legalize the cultivation and sales of cannabis is that it has proved to be a medicinal plant and it can also contribute to increasing income of Nepali farmers massively," Sher Bahadur Tamang, who is also a former Law Minister, told Xinhua news agency on Monday.
"An increasing number of countries have been legalizing its production and sales due to its benefits."

Tamang has registered the 'Cannabis Farming (Management) Act' as a private bill.
If passed by the both Houses of Parliament - House of Representatives and National Assembly, it will become a law.
The bill proposes that people who want to engage in farming, transportation, sales and exports, should obtain a license from the government authority.
"But, it will not be necessary to take permission to produce textile, feed and oil among others from its fibres and fruits," the bill states.
It has proposed an age limit for engaging in the farming of cannabis. "A person below 18 years cannot engage in cannabis farming."
The bill also says that the product can be sold to an individual as per the prescription of a doctor. "It cannot be sold to a person whose age is less than 21 years and to a pregnant woman." (IANS)
