Please tell us about your educational background and professional qualifications.

I completed B.A.M.S. from Bharti Vidyapeeth, Pune in 2007. Then I did my Post Graduate Diploma In Emergency Medical Services (PGDEMS) from Pune in 2008. I also have an M.B.A. in Hospital Management. I have been practicing Ayurveda and Allopathy (In Emergency and Gynae Cases) for 10 years now. I am currently working with Worldgreen Hospital, Saidpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Why did you choose Ayurvedic practices?

When I was young, I fell severely ill and repeated Allopathic treatments failed to help me. Ayurveda cured and saved me. This brought me closer to this medical science and I later decided to become an Ayurveda Doctor.

What is your experience when it comes to treating patients? Do they trust the treatment?

In the first instance, patients hardly believe in Ayurveda. It is mostly because they are not aware of what it is and what its benefits are. The quacks have misrepresented Ayurveda for a long time and so a lot of people do not have the correct impression. The usual mindset in the patients is that it is just some tricks using herbs and there is no science to it. So, I as the practitioner have to deal with all these misconceptions and make them understand with complete confidence. Ayurveda is the oldest and most effective health science.

Any challenge that you face as a practitioner?

Challenges mostly come when patients with chronic cases need to be cured through Ayurveda. Allopathy treatment would already have made the diseases just worse when such a patient comes to the Ayurveda practitioner. So, when you treat these patients successfully, however, you have done really well.

Any out of an ordinary situation that you have faced while treating a patient?

Sometimes when you treat the patient for one disease and some other health problems start surfacing, it makes it tough and puzzling for both the patient and the doctor.

How effective is traditional medicine as a cure?

I think in more than 90% of health problems and diseases Ayurveda is the perfect and most effective cure. Traditional medicines are natural too, so they don’t have any side effects. In emergency cases though, you have to use Allopathy too.

What do you think of Ayurveda’s future and its role in integrated medicine?

I think the future is very promising and if we all work together, Ayurveda will bring great results in all diseases and benefit society a lot.

Do you think Nirogstreet is making an important contribution to Ayurveda by striving to connect Ayurveda practitioners on its knowledge platforms?

Yes, I do. What Nirogstreet is doing is commendable. It will help a lot of Ayurveda practitioners to enhance their skills and manage their patients better.

Any hobbies or activities you engage in, outside your professional life?

I like to shop or go outstation on a trip. Besides, I like reading new Ayurveda researches being done.

What message would you like to convey to the people on Wellbeing?

I’d like to advise people to eat healthily and live a healthy lifestyle.
