Atibala, also known as Indian Mallow, is an ayurvedic medicinal plant used for treating various ailments such as fever, ulcer cataracts, syphilis, and leg pains. In the Assamese, it's known as Jayavandha or Jayapateri. In Bengali, it's known as Badela. In English as Indian Mallow. In Gujarati as Kansaki or Khapat. It is called Kanghi in Hindi. In Kannada, it's called Shrimudrigida, Mudragida, Turube Kashmiri, and Kath. It is known as Uram, Katuvan, Urubam, Urabam, Vankuruntott, Oorpam, and Tutti in Malayalam. Atibala is a plant-based source and grown in the form of plants. Like other ayurvedic plants, every structure, including its roots, leaves, flowers, stems, barks, and seeds of Atibala, are used.

How is Atibala beneficial to us?

  1. For chronic diseases

Atibala provides hosts of benefits to an individual and can also cater to multiple aspects of human physiology to provide long-lasting recovery:

  1. Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is a condition that causes muscle stiffness and rigidity; it can cause pain, swelling, and joint mobility. As per Ayurveda, excess aggravation of VataDosha can cause Osteoarthritis, also known as Sandhivata. Consumption of Atibala balances your Vata and provides relief by reducing swelling and improving flexibility.

  • Atibala can be consumed either with Honey or Lukewarm water.

  1. Atibala Paste
  • Take half a cup of coconut oil in a bowl.
  • Add 1tsp of Atibala powder.

  • Take 2 cups of water and boil it.
