Back pain has become a common issue, every next person we meet or interact has a problem of back pain, either to them or to their known person. The people often have long interactions on the cause and treatment of back pain. At times the pain becomes so severe that a person is not able to perform the even basic tasks of walking or sitting. Here are some of the most effective Ayurvedic treatments, which are very useful for back pain:

Kati Basti - In this treatment a well is created on the lower back using either the wheat flour or gram flour, heated oil is poured in the well and retained in it. This treatment is useful in improving and strengthening the muscle tone.

Kizhi - In Ayurveda the back pain is a result of Vata aggravation, therefore in order to pacify the aggravated Vata, this treatment is used. The powder of various ingredients such as herbs, rice, and sand is made and tied in a soft muslin cloth. This powder is heated and lightly pulverized and applied to the pain area. This method is very useful for relieving the pain instantly.

Sneha Basti - It is the treatment that involves enema with the use of medicated oil.

Kashaya Basti - It is the treatment that involves enema with the use of medicated decoction.

Abhyangam - It is the treatment wherein the full body is massaged with the ayurvedic oil. The full body massage relieves the pain, lubricate the oil and improves the circulation of blood.

Pizhichil - In this treatment, a piece of cloth is dipped and soaked in medicated oil and then squeezed on the affected area. This helps in strengthening the muscle tone.
