Ashokarishta Benefits

Heavy Menstrual Bleeding: Menorrhagia is known as Rakta Pradar or excessive menstrual blood discharge. This happens due to an aggravation of the pitta dosha. Ashokarishta helps treat menorrhagia due to its balancing properties pitta and kashaya (astringent).

Pain During Menstruation: This case is known as Kasht-Aartava. Aartava or menstruation is controlled by Vata Dosha. An aggravated Vata Dosha can be traced back to the symptoms of dysmenorrhea. Ashokarishta is one of the best formulations to treat dysmenorrhea due to its Vata balancing property. It also helps relax muscles and relieves cramps due to its Shool Shamak (pain reliever) property.

Menopausal Symptoms: Menopausal syndrome can be defined as a chain of symptoms associated with physiological changes in a woman's body when the fertile period ends. These can include hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and weakness. Ashokarista is an effective classic Ayurvedic medicine that can help treat the symptoms of menopausal syndrome.
Menopause syndrome can be correlated with Rajonivritti, which is caused by the aggregation of Vata Dosha. Ashokarishta helps control Vata Dosha due to its balancing quality of Snigdha and Vata. These properties counteract the Ruksha (dry) nature of Vata and thus alleviate the symptoms of menopausal syndrome.

Piles: Ayurveda suggests that chronic constipation leads to the deterioration of all three doshas, primarily the Vata doshas. An aggravated Vata causes a weak digestive fire that leads to persistent constipation. Then it can lead to more pain and swelling in the anal area if it is ignored or left untreated. This further leads to a pile mass followed by occasional or frequent bleeding.
Ashokarishta alleviates the swelling of the pile by balancing the Vata Dosha. Ashokarishta also reduces the burning sensation and discomfort associated with haemorrhoids due to its Sita (cold) nature. It has cooling effects and reduces the burning sensation in the anus. Ashokarishta also helps to treat bleeding in piles due to its stambhana (hemostatic) property.

Female Infertility: One of the main causes of female infertility is the hormonal imbalance that can occur due to polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD). There are several other reasons for infertility, such as anxiety, depression, and insomnia. According to Ayurveda, all three doshas are involved in female infertility, which sometimes leads to the accumulation of toxins in the body. Ashokarishta is generally prescribed for female infertility to internally support the body and remove toxins from the body through a process known as Shodhana (body detoxification).

Indigestion: Indigestion is a general term that describes discomfort in the upper abdomen. It is called the condition of incomplete digestion of ingested food. In Ayurveda, digestive disorders are called Agnimandya. This happens due to an imbalance in Pitta Dosha. Whenever the food consumed remains undigested due to mand Agni (low digestive fire), the formation of ama (the toxic waste in the body due to poor digestion) occurs, leading to indigestion. Ashokarishta helps digest ama due to its pachak (digestive) property. Enhances digestive fire by balancing pitta dosha.
