Although the winter season is known for the variety of exclusive winter cuisines, It is also considered as a season of flu. The majority of people catch flu in winters. we often hear a lot much advice to prevent cold in winters but the fact is that still, people catch the infection. so the question arises, "what is the reason for the problem"?
The problem is not associated with us but it lies in our modern lifestyle. As nature undergoes some change like in winters, as we can see it, time of sun rising and the sun setting have already changed, our body and lifestyle also need to change with this change. It is very important to prepare the body for the cold weather so that any kind of flu infection does not infect us. we, in general, prepare our body for winters by wearing woolen clothes, taking warm water bath and not exposing ourselves much to the cold weather but that is not enough. Food for Winter - In winter our body’s digestion system is strong, thus we can consume any food items that boost the immunity system. As in winters there is comparatively less tension of indigestion. The food which is fresh, easy to digest and wholesome comes in this category such as fruits, vegetables, ghee, lentils. The foods which are excessive salt, sugar, pungent, cold and are hard to digest must be avoided. The diet must include soups, grains, dairy products, seasonal fruits and vegetables, and the food items which are good and light for the body.
Vitamin D - In winters there is a scarcity of Vitamin D, so the people should grab the opportunity of restoring vitamin d by exposing themselves to sunlight.
Oil Massage - The oil massage in winter works wonders for the body. It relieves the body from any kind of pain and prevents the skin to get dry. The massages from oil relieves the body and provide the warmness.
Savior Spices - The spices that we use in our daily routine have the power to save as from the cold weather. A glass of milk with a little turmeric gives them warm in winters. Similarly, the spices like cumin, black pepper, cloves, ginger, and cinnamon are very good in winters. They can take with them by preparing tea and adding these spices or bolting them with water.
