I have done B.SC. in botany and studied bachelor in Ayurvedic medicine and surgery from Rishikul State Ayurvedic College, Haridwar. I also have specialization in Panchakarma which I have completed from South India. I have been practicing for 12 years now.
Studying, learning, and applying Ayurveda in my own life made me realize that it is really very effective. I did this throughout my B.A.M.S. studies. A lot of M.B.B.S. doctors often used to tell me that they have so many important things in their pathy and then they used to ask me whether Ayurveda has anything special too. I searched for the answers for years as I was studying and I happy to say I found much more than just those answers. Whatever has been written down in the classical texts are true and accurate beyond imagination. The people who wrote these must have been the most talented medics and intellectuals of their time. Each Sloka can be practically proved. Anybody who follows those postulates and learnings word by word gets free of the disease for sure. The correct translation of the Sanskrit texts is important. Proper interpretation will result in successful breakthroughs and good results all the time. It is now my goal to prove how efficient and miraculous Ayurveda is. I am proud to be an Ayurvedic doctor.
Patients though suffer from the disease and are pained because of that, yet they live in this today’s society where Ayurveda is looked down upon as an alternative medicine system. It is important for the patients to go to Ayurveda in the very beginning and with the right counselling and early treatment they would soon see their problems alleviating and finally resolved. The practitioners should be knowledgeable as to how to cure the disease and their confidence will reflect in the patients too.
There are a few very unfortunate challenges that I have realized of. One is that when there is a successfully treated case and you present it among other practitioners, they (most of them) start showing reluctance to accept that. Second challenge is that majority of Ayurvedic practitioners themselves don’t believe in Ayurveda. Third, patients are highly unaware of Ayurveda and too familiar with Allopathy. So when they ask around, they are told Ayurveda is not even a medical science but sheer quackery. And the fourth problem is that patients often do not have the patience.
By the blessings of the god, I have not yet faced any extraordinary situation while treating a patient.
It is not fair to compare Ayurveda with modern medical science at all. Modern medicine is not confident when it comes to treating chronic or complex diseases. Ayurveda can treat all kind of health problems. Also Allopathy is all about symptomatic treatment while Ayurveda treats the root cause of the diseases.
The way researches have started in recent times, someday soon every Sloka will have a practical, evidence-based presentation. This will remove a lot of unawareness and ignorance. And then every medical treatment will be natural and without side effects.
Ayush schemes for integrated medicine system are doing good. But to propagate it to every corner of the society is what needs most of the planning and energy.
Nirogstreet is doing great work. In Ayurveda, to empower every Vaidya is the most important aspect. To bridge the knowledge and information gap for Ayurveda practitioners is a wonderful endeavor taken up by Nirogstreet. I give my best wishes to Nirogstreet.
I have a lot of interest in poetry. I also like to travel to natural and scenic places. I also like to meditate.
I would give the advice people to incorporate Ayurveda in their Dincharya. Meditate to stay cheerful. Spread this cheerfulness around you. It is good to have pranayam, vyaayam, and dhyaan in daily routine.
