I did my SSC (1st Div.) in 1986 and HSC (1st div.) in 1988 from the Esteemed Rotary Public School, Gurugram. I also attended one year program in B.SC. from Government College, Gurugram. I studied B.A.M.S at Mahila Ayurved College (Gurukul), Khanpur and passed the course in 1995.
Dr. Yadav, why did you choose Ayurvedic practices?
Being in the college, I wasn’t prepared to be an Ayurvedic practitioner but being in a family where everyone was into Ayurveda and practicing it themselves motivated me in choosing Ayurveda and imbibing it in the day to day life. The results, the effects on patients Health who started adopting Ayurveda in daily life motivated me even further to be a practitioner of Ayurveda.
What is your experience when it comes to treating patients? Do they trust the treatment?
Having been in this field with an experience of 22+ years as an Ayurvedic practitioner i have treated a lot of patients so far. In the beginning, in a town where very less people know about Ayurveda, it was always hard to get the trust promptly, but soon after when people saw the results, they start trusting Ayurveda and its treatment. So yes, patients do take time to believe, but they trust the treatment eventually.
Any challenge that you face as a practitioner?
As a practitioner, there are lots of challenges i face. One is making the patients believe in their treatment and dealing with their Psychology. Because people yet don’t want to wait for results for an appropriate time.
Any out of ordinary situation that you have faced while treating a patient?
Talking about out of ordinary situations, there was a patient who wasn’t able to bear a child even after visiting renowned hospitals and getting all the treatment. The change i saw after she adopted Ayurveda was nothing but a miracle for her. She was blessed with a child later after starting the course.
How effective is traditional medicine as a cure?
As we know most medicines are derivative compounds and salts which in long-term have various side-effects. Traditional cures in Ayurveda have been around for a long time. The basic of Ayurveda is treating the body for what it lacks through Herbs, Lifestyle, Food, Exercise, Yoga, etc., which in return have no side effects and make a person healthier.
What do you think of Ayurveda’s future and its role in integrated medicine?
At the current rate, Ayurveda is getting renowned among every age group in the community and even in many countries. Its health benefits and cures are vast and effective. More and more people are turning toward Ayurveda because of easy access to Information, Seminars, Speakers, Television, etc. Soon, most of the Ayurvedic medicines would be preferred to any other cure available right now. Research in Ayurveda and its extensive development is contributing a lot in taking it forward as an integrated and indispensable cure.
