Rasna is an aromatic plant which is called yukta in Ayurveda. It is famous for its various medicinal benefits. It is an undershrub and is mainly found in India and other Asian countries.

Treating diseases/health problems using rasna
 
• For rheumatoid arthritis 
According to Ayurveda, Aamavata or rheumatoid arthritis is a result of vitiation of vatadosha and accumulation of ama(that is harmful remains in the body due to indigestion) in the joints. Initially, it starts with a low digestive fire and gradually leads to ama, which spreads to different parts of the body through vata. This ama gets accumulated in the joints, which leads to Aamavata. Due to the presence of vatabalancing property and the ushna nature of rasna, it can help reduce ama and reduce the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis such as pain and swelling in joints.
 
Rasnakadha
• Take aroundtwo cups of water in a pan.
• Add 2 to 5 grams of dried leaves of rasna to it.
• Let it boil for some time until the decoction is formed.
• Then strain it and have 10 to 15 ml of this kadha daily once or twice a day to prevent rheumatoid arthritis. 
 
• For osteoarthritis
According to the ayurvedic view, rasna can help in reducing the symptoms of osteoarthritis. In Ayurveda, osteoarthritis is known as sandhivata. It is a result of theaggravation of vatadosha and causes symptoms like pain, swelling, and joint mobility. Due to the presence of vata balancing property in rasna, it can help to reduce symptoms of osteoarthritis. 
Rasna powder for osteoarthritis 
• Take a glass of lukewarm water.
• Take 1 to 2 grams of rasna powder and swallow it with a glass of water. 
• Use this remedy once or twice a day regularly for better results. 
 
• Cough and cold
Due to the presence of ushna nature and kapha balancing property in rasna, it can be quite beneficial in preventing cough and cold. It can help manage cough, release mucus in the respiratory system, and clears them that eventually facilitates easy breathing.
 
• For joint pain
According to the Ayurvedic view, joints and bones are sites of vatain the body, and an imbalance in vata can cause pain and swelling in the joints.
