Lajvanti is an ayurvedic leaf and flower that is folded inwards, shut and sag when they are touched. There are various names of Lajvanti plants such as Hindi: Chui-Mui, Lajwanti, and Lajalu; Bengali: Lajak and Lajjavati, Kannada: Nachike Mullu and Nachike Gida, Marathi: Lajalu, Punjabi: Lalvant, Telugu: Attapatti and in Tamil:  Tottalavadi. These plant leaves get a contraction and are very thin-skinned plant. Hence, Lajvanti is commonly known as Shame plant, Sensitive Plant, or Touch Me Not Plants, and these Touch Me Not plant have various names depending upon the region. 
Lajvanti plant is a nutritious plant, and its botanical names are Neptunia oleracea and Mimosa pudica.  In English word, Lajvanti is known as Mimosa Pudika, originating from Latin. Such a plant is also known as Mimosa, sleeping plant, and sensitive plant. After a while, if an individual touches the plant, it closes itself by shrinking, and then it opens automatically. The colour of this plant is Red. It is a Fabaceae form of the pea species, and it grows throughout the year, which is used as Jadi Butti. Lajvanti is found more in shady places, such as it is typically found in empty places under trees and shrubs. To avoid many diseases, the roots, leaves, and seeds of Lajwanti are used.
Lajvanti plant is from the Mimosoideae sub-family and is a medicinal organic plant of the Fabaceae family with Mimosa leaves that are bipinnately compounded in pairs with 10–25 leaflets per trail.
Lajvanti plants are generally known as sensitive, drowsy plant and touch-me-not flowers. It is also known as the mimosa Pudica, modest plant, and disgrace plant.
