What are the beneficial characteristics of the Banyan?

The Banyan tree is a storehouse of medicinal properties. It can regulate the glucose level in the blood because it is an antioxidant. As a consequence, it can increase insulin levels in the blood. These properties of Banyan also lead to the lowering of high levels of cholesterol. And as Ayurveda claims, it helps to treat leucorrhea due to its property o astringence( kashaya). It also helps reduce inflammation due to arthritis because it consists of analgesic characteristics. If you apply the past of the tree's bark, it will reduce inflammation of your gums. It is a great cure for pain from inflammation.

  • Diarrhea

 This is a disorder of the stomach. It is caused when taken toxins through food. It is known as atisar in Ayurvedic language. It is known to cause trouble when improper, untidy food or water enters the body. It can also be caused due to distress, tension, and mental anxiety. There is rapid, lose, and watery motion when a person is suffering from diarrhea. Using the bark of the banyan tree helps make the stool thicker, preventing loss of water. This is possible because of its astringent property.

How can Banyan be used to cure Diarrhea:

  1. Acquire 2-3 grams ofthe powder made from Banyan tree bark.
  2. Consult your physician once.
  3. Mix the powder with water or milk.
  4. Take it once or twice a day.
  5. Only take it after some light meal.
  6. You will get relief from diarrhea.
  • Leucorrhea

This is a disease that causes a thick whitish substance to be discharged from the genitals of females. According to Ayurveda, this is due to the aggravation of Kapa Dosha. The Banyan helps to reduce this and cure the sick of this condition.

How can Banyan be used to cure this ailment:

  1. Consult your doctor before use.
  2. Try to attain 3 to 6 grams of either Banyan's bark or the power of its leaves.
  3. You have to mix it with at least two cups of plain water.
  4. Boil this concoction. It will be reduced to one-fourth of what it was.
  5. Filter this concoction.
  6. You have to take this slightly hot mixture either twice a day or as your doctor's advice.
  7. Take about 15-20 ml and get cured of leucorrhea.

What are the precautions needed when using Banyan?

When breastfeeding, it is advised to either refrain from using Banyan or use it after consulting a doctor. Since scientific evidence is not available in support of Banyan's use while breastfeeding a child, risks should not be taken.

During pregnancy, don’t use Banyan unless the doctor recommends it. There is no sufficient scientific evidence available in support of it.
