The Ritucharya word derives from the word 'Ritu' that means season and 'Charya' that means the routine. Ritucharya is a practice in Ayurveda, which holds a great significance. According to Ritucharya, there are four types of seasons in a year based on the sun’s position. The practice tells us to live our life keeping in perspective the change of seasons, something which affects our body as well as Wellbeing.
We generally change our clothing and eating habits as per the season: In winters we wear warm clothes and in summers the light clothes. We also change our food habits a little bit. Our main aim is to benefit our body with this temperature change, keeping in mind that only daily practice of these precautions can benefit our body and lead us to a healthier life.
Purpose of Ritucharya
A great daily routine in winter helps achieve the balance in our Doshas. Most of the people suffer from the Kapha Dosha in winter but this does not mean that the other two Doshas, Vata and Pitta do not affect us. For best practices, you need to understand your body type so that you can identify your Dosha type. This will help in following the seasonal routine that can help you avoid seasonal diseases, stress, etc.
