Workshop on Clinical Application of Prakriti held at All India Institute of Ayurveda

Saturday, Jan. 20th, was an eventful day at All India Institute of Ayurveda, Delhi. Nirogstreet in collaboration with National Ayurveda Students & Youth Association (Nasya) organized a special workshop-cum-training session on the clinical application of Prakriti assessment which was delivered by Dr. Sarita Bhutada. A prolific researcher and expert, Dr. Bhutada is a professor and head of department in Kriya Sharir at GJ Patel Institute of Ayurvedic Study & Research, Gujarat.

The 7-hour workshop was an initiative to train and sharpen the assessment skills of the young practitioners as well as Ayurveda students so that they could diagnose the constitution of their patients more accurately. Dr. Preeti Chhabra, a well-known Ayurveda practitioner and convenor of Nasya was the coordinator for the workshop. The event was marked by the presence of several seasoned Ayurveda experts and practitioners, such as Dr. Deepti Gupta, Dr. Mohan Singla, Dr. Ghanshyam Vatsa, Dr. Atul Aggarwal, Dr. Anil Sharma, Dr. Rajni Verma, and Dr. Sanjay K. Thamman. world health organization director for Ayush, Dr. G Geetha Krishnan, was the guest of honor at the workshop. Prof. Meera Bhojani, senior faculty, All India Institute of Ayurveda also observed the workshop.

Nirogstreet received an overwhelming number of registration requests from a pool of more than 16,000 people. About 130 practitioners and students attended the Prakriti assessment workshop owing to the limited availability of seats at the venue. The workshop began at 10 o’clock in the morning. Dr. Bhutada brilliantly elucidated the concepts of Prakriti and Doshas and enlightened the audience on the fine nuances of clinical assessment in day-to-day practice.

Besides the lecture, a questions-and-answers session too was held during the workshop in which select respondents were felicitated on the basis of best answers with surprise gifts. The winners of the q&a contest were Dr. Monika Gupta, Dr. Indira Rani, Dr. Satyadev Arya, Dr. Malika Sharma, and Dr. Ashima Sardana.

The workshop concluded on an optimistic note with a brief address to the audience by Dr. G Geetha Krishnan. He appreciated the efforts put forward by Nirogstreet, Nasya, and AIIA, Delhi for coming together to organize the event and emphasized the need for more such initiatives. The attendees were awarded participation and training certificates which brought the workshop session to a satisfactory closure.
