Hyperacidity is the condition, in which the hydrochloric acid is secreted more that the normal amount in the stomach. According to Ayurveda, hyperacidity is termed as amlapitta. It is a condition where increase in amlaguna(sour taste) of pachak pitta(gastric juice) occurs. It is considered as Pitta Kaphapradhana Tridoshaj vyadhi. Mainly it is cause by faulty diet, irregular meals excessive spicy, salty and hot diet, excessive oily, bakery products, use of starch, stress.

  • Powder of amla (3-6 gm) two times in a day with water.
  • Powder of saunf + sugar (twice a day).

  • Wheat- old rice- barley-green gram- sugar candy-cucumber.
  • Fruits like gooseberry/dry grapes/black grapes/sweet lime/pomegranate/ fig/dry fig to be included in diet.
  • Take adequate amount of Fluids like -pomegranate juice/lemon juice/amla juice/sweet-lime juice/ medicated water with ushir(wala) or coriander seed/ warm water.
  • Dadimpak(sweet preparation made of pomegranate)
  • Moramla( jam made from amla)
  • Gulkand with milk
Apart from these, according to Ayurveda, adequate sleep and rest is also necessary. Practicing Yoga, Pranayam, Meditation and Exercise regularly to be considered in daily routine.

Ans.-When we feel hungry, our body require energy from food and so our stomach starts secreting an acid called HCL (hydrochloric acid) which is a strong acid. And if we kept empty stomach for long duration , then the secretion of HCL will increase due to which it leads to appear symptoms of acidity like burning sensation, chest pain, indigestion, headache, dizziness, fatigue etc.
