About Doctor

Dr. Sudha was born on June 26th, 1954 to Kallayil Keshavan Vaidhiyar and Ammini at Kottapadi near the famous Guruvayur temple, in Thrissur district, Kerala. Her father was a famous Ayurvedic doctor and held a very high position in the Kerala Ayurvedic field. He was the head of the Cheruthurathy Ayurvedic hospital. He had a large following and people from all parts of Kerala visited him for treatment. Young Sudha used to accompany her father to the hospitals and listened diligently to the diagnoses he made. Here is where seeds of Ayurvedic interests were sown in her. Her grand father, late Kallayil Kunju Vaidyar also was an Ayurvedic physician well known in Kerala for his skill in the treatment of eye diseases. Dr. Sudha earned her bachelors in Ayurvedic medicine (BAM) at the prestigious Kottakal Ayurvedic College in Kottakal, Kerala and her masters(MD) at the Ayurveda Post Graduate Research Center in Ayurveda,Trivandrum, Kerala. She then worked under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi for a year in Nagercovil, Tamil Nadu, practising transcendental meditation. Dr.Sudha has also undertaken a research project in Tribal Medicines under the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in partnership with the Central Council for Research in Ayurveda and Siddha(CCRAS). Dr. Sudha married Mr.N. Asokan, a well-known journalist working for the famous Mathrubhumi Daily (a Malayalam newspaper) in 1982 and shifted her base to Delhi. It is here that she established her base and ran a small private practice for a few years before setting up Ayurveda Kendra in 1990. She later on established different centres, entered into several partnerships at national and international levels and set up her own manufacturing unit in Kerala. Today, Dr. Sudha has treated tens of thousands of patients across all part of India and most parts of the globe in her 30+ years of practice, and is continuing to deliver the authentic Ayurvedic healing experiences to her patients daily.
